Universal Orlando’s Rumored Plans For Wet ’n Wild Land

Universal is tossing around the idea to build a high-end, theme park-level entertainment/shopping/dining complex on the 40 acre-plus parcels of land that encompass the soon-to-be-closed Wet ‘n Wild. Sources said part of the development’s design would face a small lake located on the south barrier of the Wet ‘n Wild property.

However, if the rumors are true, Universal would take on several new attractions slated for International Drive such as Unicorp National Developments Inc.’s $200 million I-Drive 360 complex that opened in May and its planned 420-foot StarFlyer attraction, as well as other planned projects like the $400 million iSquare Mall + Hotel and the $460 million Skyplex project that is still in discussions with Orange County leaders.

That said, this is just a rumor, as Universal has yet to reveal any plans for that land just yet. The theme park is busy growing exponentially including multiple new attractions, adding hotel room inventory and building a new water park– all opening within the next two years.
