Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival

Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival dishes, Sneak Peek

Epcot festival fans won’t have too long to wait for the next event — the Epcot International Flower and Garden festival starts on March 1 and lasts until May 29.

This annual celebration of spring shows off more than 70 Disney-themed topiaries as well as gardens, wildlife habitats and more. As with all Epcot festivals, food is a big part of the fun as well. I got a chance to learn about a new activity and some new dishes at a recent event.

The Royal Tea Garden Tour

Tea lovers will be taken on a tour of Epcot’s tea garden, enjoy their own cup along with some scones and learn about tea through this new activity. The seminar takes place at 9:30 a.m. daily during the Flower and Garden Festival. Tickets cost $15 per person.

The Berry Basket

Similar to the tomato-centric booth at the previous Epcot International Food and Wine Festival, this market centers on one ingredient: berries.

La Isla Fresca

This Caribbean-inspired booth is recieving two new dishes: The conch salad with avocado, mango and onions had a number of contrasting flavors and textures.

Florida Fresh

All things Florida will be celebrated at this booth. What’s more Florida than key lime pie? A hefty key lime tart with toasted meringue is one of the better deals in the dessert category.

Watermelon-Salad

Urban Farm Eats

The Urban Fairy Cocktail is a mix of absinthe, cucumber simple syrup and lime juice. It has a light, floral taste.

Day 2 - Epcot & Magic Kingdom (73) (600x395)

Bauernmarkt: Farmer’s Market

This market is inspired by Germany. For its new dish, warm cheese strudel gets topped with mixed berries for a savory-sweet treat.
